Everything I do, I do it for you // Adam & Inias

Inias smiled into the second, even softer kiss. “Can we…can we find the others, now? Make sure they’re all right?”

Part of him just wanted to stay here in this ruined city forever, just like this, with Adam so very close and warm and alive and beautiful beside him and in his arms, but they still had obligations to the rest of Team Free Will, and, in some ways, to all of humanity, to consider.

“Do you…do you understand, now? Why I was so afraid?”

“Why you saved me, why you panic when you´re scared for me, why you get mad at me, why you´re still going forward with me. Yes, I think I understand now.”

Adam smiled, linking their hands together, fingers sliding between fingers in a bond, and he wasn’t going to let go ever again. Something that felt so right couldn’t be wrong, no matter what others would say.

“Let´s find the others.”

Inias felt himself flush as Adam took his face in his hands. He wasn’t sure what this meant, but his body seemed to understand — kissing.

It was terrifying and wonderful, and Inias didn’t know what to do with his hands, so he settled them on Adam’s waist and kissed him back.

Adam felt a shudder run through him when Inias repsonded the kiss, keeping it gentle and slow not wanting to startle him. It was so different from what had happened with Dean.

Back then it had been pure lust, clashing teeth and positively devouring eachother. This was searching, tentative, unhurried. Something he wanted from the bottom of his heart, something that kept him warm.

He broke the kiss soon enough, resting their foreheads together locking his eyes together with Inias’s, smiling shakily. “Are…I…are you alright?”

Inias found himself smiling in the wake of the kiss, face still flushed and warm. “Better than all right.”

Because he was. Despite everything, he felt better than he had for a very long time — since he’d first heard of his brother’s rebellion, actually. He was, for the first time in a long time, truly happy.

He flushed a little darker red. “Can we…can we do that again, some time?”

Adam smiled relieved at that, he didn’t want the angel to run away screaming because he acted on impulse. “That´s good. I´m glad.”

He didn’t need to take anymore blood. Inias seemed to be damn happy just like this, without his Grace and if he wasnt, Adam was going to make sure he was going to be happy.

He chuckled, leaning forward brushing their lips together feather like. “Whenever you want to, dear.”

Inias let out a soft breath as Adam drew closer. He would miss his family, yes, but Castiel would at least be around, and if anyone would understand the actions Inias had taken, it would be him. And he had been slowly but surely losing many of his brothers and sisters anyway, with the way the war had been going — Anael had only been the first of the garrison to Fall.

“I made my choice, Adam. I chose humanity — chose you.

Adam wasn’t sure what came over him. Was it relief, that Inias seemed to have forgiven him? Or the slowly building tension between them, or the way air seemed to spark with electricity, or was it just the simple sentence I chose you.

Whatever the reason was, it made Adam reach forward to cup Inias’s face gently in his hands, taking a moment to just touch the soft and warm skin, watching it turn a shade of pink and smiled, meeting Inias’s eyes that seemed to swirl so many clors and emotions right now before leaning up and pressed their lips together in a gentle, tender kiss, feeling like a herd of butterflies had taken over his stomach and chest.

“It was worth it, no matter how many times you try to tell me it wasn’t,” Inias responded, stepping toward Adam hesitantly.

Because Adam was everything humanity was supposed to be, and had shown Inias what free will meant — and what feeling so strongly about someone meant. Without Adam, he’d still be on Heaven’s side, fighting for a Paradise that wasn’t really Paradise at all.

Adam looked unsure. Inias seemed determined that he didn’t want the Grace anymore, and it threw Adam off the loop. He was doing this because of the angel. “Are you sure?” He asked confused, tilting his head slightly.

“I mean…I´m doing this…because of you. I want to help you. You can’t go back to Heaven, you´ll be ignored by your brothers, you´re mortal..doesn’t it bother you?” He asked stopping few inches away from Inias, staring up at him.

Inias turned back to him. “I don’t care if I get my Grace back, Adam.”

He really didn’t. If it happened, it would be nice, but what mattered more was that Adam was all right, that the world got saved…

Essentially, every possible concern was more important than his Grace.

“I…I care about you as well. A great deal.”

Adam smiled a little, stepping closer. “You should care of your Grace. You turned human because of me.”

He didn’t know why, but hearing Inias say that he cared about him made Adam feel better, lighter and warmer inside. It was like a kitten had done a nest in his chest and was purring happily.

Adam let out a silent sigh when Inias turned his back for him, just like Dean had done. Sam had been the only one understanding, probably because he had done it too, and actually seemed to care if something happened.

“It´s still me Inias. It´s just blood, and it helps me. Why can’t you see that? Why can’t any of you see that?”

“That’s where you’re wrong, Adam,” he said quietly. “Demon blood — to drink enough of it to kill a demon of Crowley’s caliber…it’ll strip your humanity away. Make you like them.”

And that was something Inias couldn’t watch happen — it was the same reason he’d been so very willing to give up his Grace. An eternity under Lucifer’s knife would surely do the same thing that the demon blood would.

Inias had never felt more like a failure.

“Inias, please.” Adam sounded desperate now, taking a step closer to the ex-angel. “I won’t let it get that bad. Only to get back on Crowley, and get your Grace back. I owe that to you. I want to do that to you.”

He sighed again, teeth worrying his lower lip, the sharp pain bringing him back to the present. “I really care about you, alright? And you barely know me, yet you´ve helped me more than anyone else has.” Adam got out, watching him carefully.

Inias stepped back again, as if slapped. He floundered for a reason, for some explanation for the agony he’d felt when he’d felt Adam’s death, and again when he’d seen his body. It wasn’t all guilt, and he couldn’t name the rest.

Instead, he turned away. “I didn’t want to lose you,” he mumbled, fists clenching at his sides. “But it looks like I already have.”

Adam let out a silent sigh when Inias turned his back for him, just like Dean had done. Sam had been the only one understanding, probably because he had done it too, and actually seemed to care if something happened.

heavensyoungestson:

“So you turn to the very creatures we’re supposed to be fighting? You…you…debase yourself and drink one’s blood?” Inias responded.

He was not nearly intoxicated enough for this.

“How was I supposed to live with your death? After everything — I’d trusted Crowley — it had been my error that started all of this. The only thing I had to give was my Grace! So I gave it, and now this is what you’ve with it?”

“Making a mistake to trust a wrong demon doesn’t mean you´re supposed to give your holy power over them to save a messed up human like me!”

Adam was breathing heavily, glaring at Inias. Why didn’t anyone understand him? “We barely know eachother Inias. You saved me, and brought me here, thanks.” He shook his head. “But otherwise we´re nearly stangers Inias! Five seconds later and you wouldn’t have caught Crowley before he left! Why can’t you people just let me die and be in peace for once?!”
